Finding fall in California
The common theme amongst my blog posts lately has been the lack of fall in California. Well, I am happy to report I found it and it was perfect!
On Friday morning, my parent's asked if I wanted to take a trip to Crestline in the mountains near us. My answer was a quick yes, so I hopped out of bed and rushed to the shower.
As we headed up the mountain, fog loomed over the tallest peaks in the distance. My mom suggested turning around since it looked thick, but my dad persevered on. Once we made it to the lake, the scene was the definition of fall. Mist hit the car windshield as we twisted and turned along the lake, the fog met the tips of the pines, and the trees boasted their new fall colors.
We brought our little (brat) dog with us in hopes of taking her on a walk around the lake. As we hopped out of the car, my mom exclaimed we were insane due to the chilly weather, but my dad and I were ecstatic to receive a break from the blistering sun.
The weather felt exactly like that of Oregon and Washington making me even more excited for my upcoming trip to Portland. After a walk around the lake, I ended this perfect fall day with a veggie burger at our favorite restaurant in Crestline. It doesn't really get much better than that.
