Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Sunset at Hearst Castle

Sunset at Hearst Castle

We started off the day in Santa Barbara in true Candace and Andi road trip fashion with a breakfast of McDonalds and Starbucks. After that, we headed up the coast in anticipation of our first time at Hearst Castle.

We first made a quick stop in Pismo beach and were blessed with perfect overcast lighting. If I could choose any lighting to shoot in forever, it would definitely be overcast. Maybe that explains why I want to move to Portland so bad.

I also couldn't head up the coast and not make a stop at my favorite elephant seals. Sadly, there weren't too many this time of year, but just a small glimpse made me so happy.

Hearst Castle was everything I expected and more. We wandered around the premises taking photos as the last light of the day touched the central California coast.

Pro tip: keep the friends around that make sure to schedule your tour at Hearst Castle during sunset because they know it is the best time for lighting.
