Is Disney+ Worth Signing Up For?

Is Disney+ Worth Signing Up For?

*Disney invited me to the D23 Expo 2019 and provided be with 2-day badges to the expo. Thoughts and opinions on the event are my own.

Usually at D23, all eyes are on the Studios and Parks panels, but this year D23 had everyone on the edge of their seats during Disney+. Disney’s new streaming service has remained much of a mystery, but that all changed this weekend during a 2 hour long panel where attendees were given an exclusive look at everything coming to the platform.

“Is Disney+ worth signing up for” was the question looming on everyone’s minds up until this point. With many of its competitors offering top notch, exclusive content, was Disney going to be able to compete? The simple answer: YES!

Within the first year of launch, Disney+ will be home to the entire Pixar and Walt Disney Studios library, including those in the vault. It will also feature thousands of hours of TV shows and movies with over 5,000 episodes of Disney Channel and Disney Jr. shows and 100 DCOM movies.

We already knew Disney would come through, providing nearly everything already in the Disney library, but what was really in limbo was the exclusive Disney+ content, especially with competing shows like Stranger Things. Could Disney create content that would convince people to change their loyalty?

All I know is that starting on November 12th, my social life will be pretty much non-existent all thanks to the new offerings.

During the panel, teasers and trailers were shown for nearly all shows and movies. After seeing everything, I can confirm a Disney+ membership is 100% WORTH IT! The quality and quantity of exclusive content is absolutely astounding, I was completely in awe as they kept revealing more and more.

Personally, I am most excited for the Lizzie McGuire reboot, as well as the all new Star Wars and Marvel exclusive shows. Oh and of course DCOM movies! I can’t wait to watch Halloweentown whenever I want and revisit old favorites from my childhood.
