Running around Portland
I spent the last few days in Portland and I could not be happier. I was hoping for some clouds and fog, but like usual there was sun. Every time I visit the Pacific Northwest I bring the sun with me. I just can't seem to escape it! What did not disappoint though was the incredible fall colors. Most trees were rocking their fall shades in varying colors of orange and yellow making this California girl ecstatic.
We woke up bright and early last Thursday morning and left California for Oregon before the sun rose at 4:45 am. We ambitiously decided to drive all the way to medford rather than the planned stop in Sacramento making for a long day of driving. Normally, I stop in Northern California, but after doing the bulk of the driving the first day, I will definitely do the drive like this again.
After spending the night in Medford, we made our way up to Portland much earlier than expected since we did most of the driving the previous day. We spent the next few days running around town, completing my first corn maze, spending time in Powell's, visiting Halloweentown, eating ramen, driving to Mt. Hood, wandering around the rose garden, exploring Pioneer Square, and more.
Yet again, this trip reminded me of how I truly have one foot in California and the other in Oregon.
